The Black Oil PVT cell is an automatic, motorized piston-driven system equipped with a sapphire viewing window on the top of the cell. It features a specially designed magnetic stirrer mounted on the piston, enabling effective mixing of heavy oils with viscosities up to 5,000 cP, along with a manual rotation mechanism for additional control.

The control cabinet allows manual setting, monitoring, and recording of temperature, pressure, and volume within the PVT cell, as well as regulation of the constant temperature system. The unit is supplied with FALCON® PVT data processing software, including control software and macro functions for automation. A synoptic interface provides access to real-time data acquisition and graphical output, enabling full computer control of experimental parameters and automated data processing.
The system uses piston gaskets instead of O-rings, making it suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure operation. Each gasket set supports more than 100 black oil sample analyses without requiring disassembly. The cell can be inverted (head up or down), and integrated valves along with a diaphragm sensor help eliminate dead volume within the system.
