It retains the key advantages of the Houillon tube design—fast analysis, minimal sample requirements, and reduced solvent consumption—while introducing an optional autosampler for completely unattended operation. A centralized user interface manages data storage, autosampler functions, viscosity index calculations, and more. Fully compliant with **ASTM D7279** and closely correlated with **ASTM D445**, the system is especially suited for used oil analysis laboratories handling a broad range of lubricant viscosities.
The **S-flow IV+** features two independently controlled baths, each equipped with two tubes, providing a total of four measurement tubes. The baths can operate at the same temperature or at different temperatures between **20°C and 120°C**, offering greater flexibility. Additional capabilities include dual-solvent cleaning and integrated duplicate testing, enabling two flow-time measurements from a single sample injection.
Users can configure all measurement settings, including warm-up and cleaning parameters, through a high-resolution **12-inch touchscreen** or optional PC software. An intelligent diagnostic system notifies operators of conditions such as low solvent levels, full waste containers, and other maintenance requirements. The modular autosampler option can be added later, allowing users to start with the analyzer and upgrade to fully automated sample handling whenever needed.
